Azeez is the ESG Lead at West Africa Blue, where he leads the implementation of the organisation’s Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) and supports ESG integration across its nature-based solutions and carbon projects. His work spans environmental and social risk management, community engagement, biodiversity, human rights, and health and safety.

He brings over eight years of sustainability and ESG experience across the energy, financial services, consulting, and manufacturing sectors. Before joining Blue, Azeez served as ESG Specialist at the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund, supporting a KfW-funded €20 million programme to accelerate Nigeria’s energy transition and expand energy access. He previously worked at Wema Bank on sustainable finance and environmental and social risk management, and has advised renewable energy companies on developing and strengthening their management systems.

Azeez holds a master’s degree in Safety, Health and Environment with Distinction and a B.Sc. in Physiology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He holds the NEBOSH International General Certificate and Lead Auditor certifications in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
